GEM DIEGO SHOW

WE ARE PLANNING FOR GEM DIEGO 2026!  The venue once again will be Liberty Station Conference Center in the Point Loma neighborhood. Dealers, Exhibitors and Showgoers love the venue, so we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the same location in 2026.

EXHIBITORS and DEMONSTRATORS, BUYERS and SELLERS, it is not too early to start preparing for San Diego's best Gem & Mineral Show – Gem Diego.  It will feature high-quality Gem and Mineral Dealers selling gemstones, minerals, jewelry, lapidary equipment and supplies.  Demonstrations will included Wire Wrapping, Faceting, Lost Wax Casting, Silver Chain Making, Rock Carving, Sphere Making.  Gemstone Identification will be provided free of charge, and there will be door prizes and a raffle.

We'll need an army of Volunteers to make Gem Diego a success.  (We have a reputation to live up to!)  We have a chair position to fill for someone who can drive a U-Haul truck and to haul exhibit cases between the storage facility and the venue. See flyer for details.  If you know that you can lend a hand in any capacity, there will be sign-up sheets in the Casting Room at the SDMG bldg. by September 14th. Gem Diego is a fun show.  You'll learn a lot, see a lot, and get the chance to visit with friends.  You'll be proud of your club and amazed when you see how beautiful YOUR show turns out. Gem Diego takes a lot of planning and a long runway to ensure success, so even though the 2025 show is a little ways out, we need to get busy with preparations and ensure that the event will be well-staffed to set up the show on Friday, October 31st, cover the floor during the show on November 1st and 2nd, and then break it all down on the afternoon of November 2nd.

The Jaguar Trophy

Itziar Parramon won the Jaguar Trophy and Second Place People's Choice Award in 2025.

This award is presented by the Society President to the SDMG member who enters the most beautiful case of their own work in the club's annual Show.  The award was conceived by Ron Willis, our English member, after he visited our show in 1987.  He made the trophy for us using English walnut and marble.  The first winner was Gloria Dunkel, in 1988, for her lovely channel work jewelry.  Will you join the distinguished roster of superior silversmiths, faceters, casters and lapidaries in 2026?   Enter your work by contacting the Exhibitor Chair.

The Venue: Liberty Station Conference Center

The Liberty Station Conference Center (LSCC) is located in beautiful Point Loma, near the San Diego Harbor. The one-story Main Hall has a 7,700-square-foot exhibition/event space, with a large foyer at the building’s entrance and a colonnade that wraps around the Main Hall. Take a leisurely stroll to nearby restaurants, shops, and two hotels, all of which are conveniently located adjacent to the same parking lot as LSCC with ample parking.
